my JEM style build project thing
Hey everyone,
I have started a
JEM
copy build project thing. My goal is to have a close copy of a JEM7VWH. I have an alder JEM front route body and 3 pc maple neck (with glow in the dark binding) from Perle Guitars. Original edge trem, DiMarzio Evolution neck single coil and bridge pickups, Gotoh tuners, and nut (all hardware in cosmo). I'm going to paint it myself with spray paint. woo! I'm using "How to create a factory finish with just a couple of spray cans"
Here's some pictures so far. (The last one is everything together when I had originally planned it with a rear route body and tung oil finish.) If y'all are interested I'll keep posting picture updates.

Re: my JEM style build project thing
Do yourself a favor and return the Deft. Get yourself a can of Spraymax 2k High Gloss clear, real 2k clear in a can that hardens up and is wetsandable in 24-48 hours. Deft can take weeks, months, or forever if the conditions are not correct...

Re: my JEM style build project thing
That should turn out pretty great. Love the cosmo hardware. It looks much better than the gold. Funny, how long has Evo (with its non-gold hardware) been Mr. Vai's main axe? And
Ibanez
still insists on selling the 7vwh with gold hardware. It'd be great if they at least had two hardware options.

They do. $2500 for a new 7vwh or $7,777 for an EVO replica.

here's another update. It's all together. I'm happy with the results, it's not perfect by any means but I'm really proud of it. and the neck plays oh so nice
