Just got this beauty this week. Supposedly it is a Herc Fede swirl, and i don't know if this was originally a Jem that was modified, or a completely made custom guitar. I absolutely love the pyramid inlays with the flames around them!!!

This is the best way to start a new year!!!!!!!!

Gorgeous guitar and absolutely killer swirl - I'm pretty sure it is a Herc Fede as I already had pictures of this guitar and it's in a folder on my pc as one of Hercs.

Now i just have to get used to dealing with a floating trem again, as it's been a while...

Does anyone have any advice for caring for unfinished necks? This is the first one i've owned. Thanks

next time you change the strings you can pull the neck and check the neck pocket on the body and neck to see if it is/was a production Jem or copy.
i saw that one at auction and really dug the inlays - very cool, enjoy!

Are those actual inlays or painted on?
Just curious. I'd heard that Herc painted stuff on and never actually inlayed.

As far as i can tell, they are actual inlays. If you run your finger over them, you feel the slightest "dip" from the fingerboard to the inlay. I'm not 100% positive though.
