My new Green Dot Universe!

I finally got my hands on a UV7BK! It was rather dirty and poorly setup when I received it so it is in the process of being cleaned and setup...



I have a few questions:
1. It has a blank neck plate with only the serial # 2562XX what year is it? I thought it would be a 95-96 but someone over at ss.org sugested '92.
2. As you can see from the pics, the previous owner polished the hardware to an almost chrome finish. Do you think it would look better with the all black hardware from my RG7620? Both Lo-Pros are in excellent shape otherwise.
3. Thinking of wiring it the same way as my other Ibbys with a push/pull coil tap. Has ayone tried this? How's the single coil sound of the Blazes?

My 7620 has ALL black hardware, not cosmo...

Hey, welcome to the club!
Just got mine a few days a go, and I'm in love

1) Yes, the serial number is on the backplate. And your number suggests a '96 model, since there is no '95 models. My serial is pretty close to yours, and she's a '96 born babe.

2) I prefer the original Cosmo Black visual. Just a matter of preference, though.

3) Mine is wired as original. Never heard the push/pull on Blaze II's, but it's not a bad idea. The single coil is strato-like and blends very well with the humbuckers: sweet sound with the neck p/u and strato-sound with bridge p/u. Since the Blaze II isn't hot as the Evolution, the single doesn't become too low in volume, making it possible to use it without tweak your pedalboard.

OK, so I swapped the black hardware from my RG7620 and I must say I really like the all black look. No more talk, just a couple of quick pics.

Thanks guys. I have changed the 5-way switch for a Dimarzio one, and also added a push/pull tone pot to split the humbuckers. Anyone know were I can find a green tip for the Dimarzio size 5-way?
