This is a take off on a prototype done for Vai. It never went into production.

The finished guitar will have my favorite maple neck, from a 550 I believe. I have the Breeds already. I wanted zebra Orange/Black pickups but Dimarzio doesn't make orange anymore. Time to call Roger and get some covers...

The body was originally is Maple from Ibanez. I guess it was a custom that went bad (there were some bad spots in the body) and they painted it black. When I stripped it I couldn''t believe what I saw. I have had the body for 10+ years. It is the best sounding body I own.

Can't wait to get it all together.

That's exacly the swirl that I would get if I got Darren to do some work for me. *I was gonna call it Halloween or something. *Killer colors. *I like the color choice.
Gnarly guitar man. *The perfect compliment would be an orange inlay in a rosewood/ebony fretboard.
