My new Universe

I returned from NAMM this past Sunday and had the best time. *I got to meet Steve at the NARAS booth on Saturday and got pics and a a phot from the Eat Em and Smile tour of him playing his Green Meanie Charvel.

I arrived home to find a brand new Universe UV777BK on a guitar stand with a red bow on it from my wife and kids for my birthday. *This guitar is awesome. *I have not totally gotton used to the widr neck but I am adjusting. *How do you all feel about the stock pickups? *I was contemplating Evolution 7 for the neck and bridge. *Recommendations.

I'm totally nuts about the stock pups. *I'm even curious to see if there are 6 pole versions for a project guitar I have right now. *Tons of personality. *High output pickups though, but I love em.

What a wife!!!! *Does she have a sister in Canada  LOL
you are one lucky dude!!! *Congrats on the new UV, enjoy it forever, and I too love the pickups in the UV although I would like to hear the EVO 7's, the EVO's in my 7VWH are some of the most amazing pickups I've ever heard!

i agree with the need to change the blazes in the UV, they are one of the lowest output pickups made for a 7-string -- i have a tone zone 7 and an evo 7 on the way, im gonna try em both out to see which one i like better. *i talked to a guy at dimarzio and he suggested moving the bridge pickup to the neck position and the tone zone or evo in the bridge: he suggested this because there are not a lot of choices for higher output bridge pickups as far as dimarzio is concerned, and it would retain the nice tonal characteristic of the blaze but with the bridge pickup in the neck it would give the output needed. *i love the evos in my 7v, but i dont want the low B to get mushy -- the tone zone is supposed to be a little better at keepin the low end tight, but im not sure if it will give me the mid range tone that i love about the evo. *so. . . . . after saying so much about nothing, ill let you guys know what i find once i try each in my UV777BK.
