my sustainer custom jem

hey guys, i'm faced with a bit of a dilemma:

i have three jems (amongst RG's and the shocking pink universe) - an '02 jem7vwh, a '96 or thereabouts FP and a beat-up '89 Jem777VDY in dire need of a refinish.

the question is, do i fit the beat up VDY with my fernandes sustainer, or take a chance and fit it to the near mint FP? i'd love to fit it to the VDY, but because it's a top-route, this may be difficult. either way, the one without the sustainer is getting brand new pink dimarzios (evo2 and evo neck). both had been retro-fitted with black humbuckers by their previous owners, which is all too common sadly.

any thoughts or suggestions? bearing in mind the fact i'm refinishing the VDY, and i do have an RG550 that the neck would fit on quite nicely....

I say use the front rout guitar........

if you use front-mount, you will have to have the switches some where in the pickguard.

If you go rear-mount, you will have to take some wood away for the board so the switches can come up thru.

If you FP is mint I would not do it to that.

I'd mount it in whichever guitar I found to be my main axe...

that'll be the VDY when it's done i guess, it plays unbelievably, and has little enough sentimental value that i can really chuck it about. plus, i can probably rear-route it without going through the top-route if i'm careful.


probably a job for the pro's then.....
