Need help, broken Lo Pro!!

Well, I was really pissed off yesterday and already decided to get a new Lo Pro when I get back to Argentina, but before I do that I want to know if it can still work as it is.

Here s the problem:

I dont know how but the top left side of the Lo Pro that borders the trem post (where the knife ends is broken). I ve modded a couple of jemsite pics to show you exactly where it broke.

I ve already glued it with a cyanoacrylate glue and my bet is that if I paint over it or if I gold plate it (its a gold Lo Pro), its probably going to be very hard to see the repair.

Now, as far as I can see there is no contact point between this part and the trem post, so it seems not to be a "stress point". My question is:

1) Does the trem knive need this "apendix" to be secured? Is there a risk of the knive becoming "loose"?Is there a contact point between the trem post and the repaired area?
2) Is there any compromise in performance or durability?
3) Have you ever glued this kind of molded metal with cyanoacrylate glue? How long does it lasts? Should I use an epoxy glue instead?

Thanks in advance

Re: Need help, broken Lo Pro!!

heh, the original edge i put in my jem had broken at a far more stressed point (the slot where the knife edge goes in had split open completely, and the top half had broken off), but it was nothing JB Weld couldn't fix (thanks Rich!). I fixed it, had it sit in the RG560 it came from for a while to see how it worked, put it in my Jem and it's been solid as a rock for the past year and a half, fully (ab)used, gigged, and recorded with.
