Need help for Jem 77FP

Hi guys,

I m new to this forum and I m interested in getting a JEM 77FP. Any opinions on it? I saw one on sale on e/bay( I couldnt paste the link here if not I will be suspended..lol) and I m interested in getting it. I had paste links to the photos.

http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...1bMXjA&notag=1

Will anyone be kind enough to take a look at the photo and give me some opinion? If it's worth getting? How much am I expected to pay for a JEM 77FP? If you have a JEM 77FP do drop me a pm as well. Thanks a lot!

Re: Need help for Jem 77FP

Hey Matt!! Welcome!

I have two FP's. Left 91' right 88'

The FP you're considering is a pretty rare pattern, but it is BEAT TO HELL!! Looks like they used it as a "smash up" stage special (TOO BAD) It's a 90 something, but I can't tell the exact year because of the extensive wear and rust on the back plate. There is a LOT of rust and wear and "chunks" out of this guitar and whomever owned it needs a whoopin from the "Jem police"

I'm first in line

FP's are great playing guitars, but if you're serious about getting one, be patient and look around first.

I would NOT buy that FP!! There are plenty of nice FP's floating around.

Patience grasshopper!!

BTW - What's he asking anyhow??

As far as price, I paid $ 1,500 for the 91' and $ 1,300 for the 88'. Both are dead mint!! (both bought in 2005)

If you wanta minty, I'd say $ 1,500 is a good target price to look for MAybe a tad bit more for a REALLY nice one since value of Jems in general is on the rise.

Bottom line and (IMHO) Don't buy THAT FP!! Look around. There are plenty to be had!!

Feel free to ask as many questions as you have!! That's what Jemsite is for

Re: Need help for Jem 77FP

THANKS A LOT NIKSTER!!!! Thank you so much for helping me out with my search for Jem 77FP haha...I found this 320151825203 on bay previously and it is still at $1100...Hopefully it will stay there to fit in my tight budget haha. Although the condition is a little beat up but the front view cant really see much damage. If it is ard $1200 - $1400...it's still worth it right?

I guess the Im the idiot then. I won the JEM in question (Item number: 320151825203) . The other one you refer to (Item number: 230165545923), what an F&*#ing sham! I had the winning bid, and the seller yanked it moments before closing. Then I had a guy on email from New Jersey ready to sell me a fairly good condition JEM77FP for $2000 (too much!) , but he was being an ass and said it would be 3 weeks before he could ship it....30 seconds left to go on the **** one from Singapore, I sorta panicked, I made the minimum bid and won it. At least Check Yong Ling was very honest about the dings. I hope I didnt make a mistake, but I intend to restore it as much as possible. Any thoughts on this JEM of a drama are welcome.
