New 87 SK - restoration needed

Hey guys, so i was looking through some local ads when i saw one for an 87`777 SK. Now i love my 777 to death and with my 7pbk leaving soon, i will be left with only one floyd guitar. This is unnacceptable. This one was priced very reasonably. So in addition, i may sell another from my private collection, to still have more money in the end. So there is only one picture for now, until i pick her up tuesday night, but i`d like to know, what i should probably touch up on this axe according to what you guys can spot on her. Apparently the pink is still pink because i refuse to own a blotchy orange leper looking model. So what do you guys think ? She should make an excellent back up since my other SK is in excellent condition, has the palm rest, is all original, and is an early serial number!

fretboard looks dirty, good cleanup would do it well!
I haven't cleaned a maple fretboard myself but I had the local guitar tech do it to my SK about a year ago and the difference was incredible - think he used some sort of bleach?

HDS here on the boards has done some amazing stuff on maple boards. Don't know if he is offering services, but he has done awesome work.

nah he said it`s a tone zone. I made him a counter offer since it comes in a gig bag and has no hand rest and the pick up changed and what not. let`s wait and see. if all goes well, i should have her home and the pictures of the damage will be posted !

Is this the one that was on Kijiji Montreal? I was considering contacting the guy about that one.

I'd change to a pink bridge pickup, but otherwise leave it alone probably. I wouldn't mess with the neck if it played well.

Nah, you should go for it. I am just in 'tire kickin' mode right now. I'm actually leaning more towards a U.S.A. Hamer Diablo or Centaura at the moment.

So, now you'll have 2 SK's? Congrats!
