New Bad horsie jem (my opinion)

I'm sure everyone here has their 2 cents on what they think of the new Jem. Personally I think it's an ok guitar, but not worth the price difference. Granted the finish is sexy but it's very prone to fingerprints and smudges. Personally I think the 7WH is still the best Jem one can buy unless you're looking for something rare. I also think that Ibanez is starting to demand more money for a product that hasn't changed in quality, does anyone know why? Granted the economy has changed but I got my Jem in '02 for $1,000 less than what the NAMM price guides say. I was wondering what everyone else thought.

this needs to go into the faq soon. It's real simple business and unfortunate to customers.

Ibanez noticed as it raised prices, JEM sales were unaffected... JEMs have slow and steady sales. Ibanez realized it can sell the same small amount of JEMs at PREMIUM prices and people will still buy them. They can also time production/shipping to save $$$. Dealers/Resellers will confirm this.

So prices are high 'cause Ibanez know people will STILL BUY THEM.

Secondly, Ibanez makes more $$$ selling smaller number of guitars at higher prices than higher quantities at lower prices. But this is not an issue for JEMs (more RGs, MIJ axes)... glen

hhmmm just wondering how many more new threads do we need of people complaining about the BRMR jem? why not just stick to the one already here?

NObody knows the specifics of anything. EVERYthing is speculation only. Unless an insider decided to tell Ibanez' side of the story, this is just a circle jerk

is it speculation that many feel prices are too high?

is it speculation that the quality of the BMRM is no greater than a VWH that listed at $2399.99 only 10 months ago ($700 more)? The VWH itself rose $400 in the past ten months.

maybe some of you guys just don't want to hear the obvious, but please face the fact that prices are higher for the same Ibanez stuff. At the same time, prices of other premium brand NEW guitars has NOT risen so dramatically... glen

Your "theories" of why prices are higher, all speculation, period. You know this, but you state them as fact.

which of these is your theory...

a. pleading the 5th
b. the VWH was improved $400 in the past 10 months
c. sales have declined hence a price rise

Oh great, another thread where people whine about the prices still. Time to start handing out the diapers.

Get over it already people, Jems cost $, deal with it. It could be worse and we pay Gibson prices, ever see how expensive Gibsons top of the line guitars are ?

Yeah, thats why some of us liked Ibanez / Jems in the 1st place, their top stuff still was somewhat affordable...
