It depends mainly on your budget and tastes.

You can find Jems anywhere from $600 for a DY or an abused DBK, on up to $4000 for a highly overpriced DNA.

On the other hand, If Steve were to sell one of his personal Jems on Ebay for the MNF, I'm sure he'd start it at $7777.00.

I would get a JEM but the main problem I have with them is the single coil in the middle. I always end up hitting it when I am playing and it's annoying, which is why I am considering a 'custom.'

Why not just lower the single coil so it is not in the way?

Just for your information, Rich (the swirl banner above) has a '01 dead mint VWH in stock. You might want to think about getting one from him because all guitars are inspected, professionally set up and tested prior to shipping. Plus he's a great guy and always around (here at the forum) when you need help.

You always can buy a 3 way switch and off the sibgle coil, so you can do that on/off effect while playing, like Vai does in PAW.

If you were me you could have gotten a GMC for $400, but you arent Sorry, I couldn't resist. For a new one i'd sa the DBK perhaps. I really like that one. I'd rather have a 7VSB rather than a 7VWH, but that's me.

As for used stuff, the 777VBK, 77BFP/FP, 7BSB, and 7RB are my favs.

well, then you need to play that problem out of your system.

DEFINITELY get a 7VWH... I couldn't believe the difference in playability from my 7DBK... although it's an effin sweet guitar.

Hey welcome!
Yes, get a VWH. She's a great player and you don't have to bother about dinks or chips cause she's still in production.
Enjoy!
