New Universe Owner - i.e. - ME!

This saturday, I went to get it - a secondhand UV777BK, that, according to the seller, was in mint condition apart from a cracked mirror pickguard.
I wasn't sure about it, but it turned out to be pretty much true (except for a small amount of damage to the neck binding), and I'm now the proud owner of a Universe!

It's a much better looker in real life than in any of the pictures I've seen, and it plays well, REALLY well. *It almost feels like a 6-string to me (after coming from a cheapo Kramer 7-string...).

Now I'll have to go out and use it !!

Cool! I am suprised you found one in Belgium, when I lived there they never seemed to have any other guitars other than strats/gibsons...

Congrats on it, I am sure you'll get good mileage and pleasure out of it! The universe is just a top guitar all round!

In my opinion, the Mirror pickguard is the weak point of that guitar's aesthetics. *If it's cracked, get a replacment other than the mirror. *Then take a picture of it and post it here!

I could never bring myself to spend the $60-70 replacing mine. * You're lucky...you have a reason

Wonderful! wonderful! I've got two UV's now - *a 7BK and a 777BK - and the 777 is certainly the prettier of the two... The 7Bk has a killer neck, tho' :biggrin:

They are absolutely great guitars - play it into a refret :thumbsup:

The best 'players' *universe ever. *i got so close as to have one onorder, but after 4 unforfilled delivery dates, i paid a bit extra and got the DNA.
One day my Uni will come.

I'll register it tonight, when I am home, so I can get the serial numbers on there as well.

I don't think I'll change the mirror pickguard - I'm going to have one custom made for me, but it will still be mirrorred (it might be fancy as well though

)
