On the cover of the Oct 2009 Guitar Player. Multi-color splotchy design Universe with pickguard and pyramid inlays. Looks COOL.

Big article on Steve and the back cover is a full page ad for the new hard-tail Jem.

I saw the new issue when I was out. It looks like the FTLOG Universe all cleaned up with a mirror pickguard and new pickups.

It's one of the old MCs, that has had a blow torch taken to the finish. Mirror guard and white pickups/pink knobs, but its an old MC not a new guitar. Actually, it is this one: http://www.vai.com/Machines/guitarpages/guitar030.html

I wonder if Mr. Vai is leaning back towards a real color as he's been photographed with some of these older guitars of late; like the LNG.
