NGD ! 1988 Jem 77FP finally...

been wanting a floral forever but just never had the right deal come my way...

great shape for its age with a few dings and such...

just curious about cracks on both sides of neck pocket...hopefully just finish cracks...i'd heard others speak of these before...a frequent occurrence?

also a small repaired crack on back of headstock running from one of the routes for the nut attachment bolts...

most amazing thing is...it was shipped from west coast to east in an after market case with no box, padding inside or even tape around the case to discourage opening...just my address on the handle...

guess i should just be thankful for safe arrival...although, $1300 shipped, leaves me more than pleased...

wonder how many times the case was opened by curious on-lookers in route?

Whoever shipped that guitar to you like that is a GD moronic dickhead. All the cracks you mentioned are fairly common on player type condition Jems and RG's. Hell Evo's neck looks like it's about to snap off at the heel and it still rocks... The nut crack is an easy fix with some CA glue to keep it from expanding more.

I've bought a few guitars over the years that have come to me like that. One from here! I was amazed it was intact upon arrival.

I've also shipped guitars in cases double boxed with bubble wrap and had UPS completely destroy them.

It's a crapshoot.

Wow! When I ordered my RG1550MPP from GC it came double boxed. The guitar was in it's case in the Ibanez box inside another plain box.

Congrats on your new Ibby! Some pics would be nice. ^ ^

I always secure the guitar inside the hardcase and a carbon guitar box over with (bubble wrap or other) in all the places to keep everything as tight as possible. Can't understand why people would ship unsecure. About the cracks etc is much easier to tell by pictures.

Anyway Congrats but pics or it diden't happen!!!
