No substance to the UV777BK neck - does anyone feel that the

hi everyone

does anyone else feel that the uv777bk's neck is not very good? it feels hollow like there is nothing inside of it, i mean it sorta feels like cardboard

does anyone know what i mean?

why didnt they just make the jem7vwh's neck wider for the seventh string

is there a way to get a 7 string jem7vwh neck?

thanks, see you guys later

I think the UV777BK has a strange feeling neck, but not hollow. *I thought it felt really clunky, and awkward. *Not like the old UV necks at all, I love the old UV's, but I hate the new one, it feels like yuck to me, I'm still trying to find someone who wants to trade for a UV777GR

No substance to the UV777BK neck

Before I considered trading my UV777GR for a UV777BK, I had to run to GC to test run the UV777BK. In comparison, the neck on the UV777BK feels a lot thicker than the one my GR. Considering I don't have big hands, the GR felt much more comfortable to me.

I honestly like the neck on the UV777BK...I like the flatness, and I have really big hands, so it's not a problem...in fact, the flatness has helped me improve my technique....I don't creep my thumb over the neck as much as I used to, and even if I try, it's so uncomfortable I automatically get my hands back to the right places....LOL....I also think the larger neck adds to the tone and sustain of the instrument, and the fact that it came factory unfinished made it even that much better for me....NAKED IS BEST, in guitars, as well as many facets of life! *

i know what you mean, the size/dimensions of the neck are fine, i mean its a 7 string, it has to be like that.

what was talking about was the actual weight/heaviness of the neck, it feels like its plywood and the body is graphite. its not that its unbalances it just doesnt feel proportiate.

like the jem7vwh, that neck feels like its filled with cement inside. its heavier, if you knock on it its like cement man. if you knock on the uv neck its just not there.

anyway, IS THERE A WAY TO GET A JEM7VWH NECK IN *A 7 STRING VERSION? if so how much would that cost?

thanks guys

The 7v neck has a nice thick slab of ebony which is a very dense, very heavy piece of wood compared to rosewood. *I happen to think that the new UV neck is one of the finest necks ever made, I wish the neck on my 2027 was the same way. *It is nice too, but there is less room on the treble side for some reason and I sometimes fall off the board. *

Guitar necks are extremely personal things, I really haven't met one that I didn't find appealing in some way...except that I can't play six strings anymore...nor do I want to.

I still love six strings, and honestly, I do prefer the neck on a 7VWH, but the UV777BK has the best 7-string neck I have ever used....I played some RG-7620s, and I hate that neck...plus, it's finished....blechhh

a 7V neck with a 7th string is basically a UV neck.

JEM neck specs = UV neck specs except for that extra width for the extra string. Other than that, everything is the same in measurement. (wood doesn't count)
