As someone who used to work for them, I used to allow customers to take a pic or two of a guitar under the heading of "I want to ask my insurance people what it would cost to insure it..."
At Guitar Center, they usually will let you do it if the guitar is by itself. They are more paranoid that another
music store is photographing their displays for ideas. So, just a guitar on a stand, not the whole wall, shouldn't be an isssue with anyone.
See if Jeremy Gardner still works there. Sherman Oaks was managed by him for a long while, but I haven't seen him in ages, so dunno. But he'd let ya' do it...
