Old freakin' POS guitar...

Well, I guess 14 years of use was all my 777DY's 5-way switch could take. I was playing this weekend and somehow I let the smoke out of the switch. Now my Jem is doing the best damn Cort impression I've ever heard.

Is there any way I can get the smoke back in so it'll work again?

Would everyone here use a Dimarzio replacement or is there one out there thay just owns the rest?

I'm having one of those weeks.

you can use a regular Fender switch in there - there are wiring diagrams on DiMarzio's site that show you the Fender switch as well as the Stock Jem Switch.

Steve from DiMarzio would recommend a Fender switch over the Jem switch anyday.

Not too hard.

I agree. I always use the Fender switches....they simply seem to be more solid ;-) (unless you want it to remain full factory) And if you don't find the diagram you are looking for, e-mail them. I've done it a few times and they are very helpful

I have a Fender switch on my FP. The only problem with it is that the original pink knob doesn't fit on the Fender switch I had to use a regular black one instead.
