ordered a jem and won't be in until october?!

i recently ordered a jem7vwh through my local guitar center and they said it won't be here until october because it has to be made first! i wasn't about to argue with the salesman, but why would this take so long? Any info you could give me on the building process would be helpful. thanks

I doubt it has to be made, but maybe it needs to be shipped from Japan yet. October isn't so bad, up here in Canada we typically wait 4 to 6 months for Ibanez orders to come in

And I just got a pay rise. When the Australian election campaign is on I'll be earning a couple of g's worth of overtime so perhaps I may finally take the plunge. Hehe.

But getting back on topic, it takes a very long time for them to be in stock in Australia too. I was talking to a guy at a store recently who said they had one for one day before it was sold and it was a few months before they could get another. It doesn't help that there are only a tiny handful of Ibanez Prestige dealers in Australia. I don't know if that's the way it works in other countries too or not, but here only certain Ibanez dealers are 'authorised' to carry Prestige models. Weird.

the salesman told me the delivery date has been moved to september 7! Since everyone on this forum has a sweet guitar you probably don't care but I just had to post the good news
