Pawnshop JEM story

Hi there. I wanted to share something pretty trivial but funny with you guys. There's a JEM 7VWH in a pawnshop where I live (I'm not gonna tell anyone where, lest there be a JEM scavenger nearby!) for $1300 and I've been in a few times to drool on it. It's been there since at least last Summer, and the guy said he'd let it go for $1100 cash. Okay. So here's the funny part. Yesterday I went in to pick up something else I had there and I was standing at the counter, looking at her and I asked the guy what year it was. I know I had looked before but forgot. He said it was the second year they were out, like a '94, and that it was the second, if not the first JEM model Ibanez came out with. He sounded like he knew what the feck he was talking about because he'd read an excerpt from the Ibanez book from a guitar magazine. I wanted to call him a fecktard and tell him that the JEM had been out since '87, blah, blah, blah. Then I asked to see the guitar and looked at the serial number. She's an '03. He told me there was no way to tell from the serial number what year it was made, so I showed it to him and explained that yes, you could. Hopefully I knocked a little of the scum from his being, because he obviously doesn't know Jack Schitt. As soon as I sell my spleen, pancreas and liver, I'm gonna offer him $1000. She's in decent shape, just needs to be cleaned up a good bit. Lots of finger scum on the fretboard. The volume pot's shaft is bent and the tone knob doesn't work. There seems to be slight cracking in the finish around the output jack. Is that normal?
Anyway, sorry this is so long, but I don't post that much so I have to say a lot at one time

He was probably confused with when the 7vwh was introduced and the first Jem since the 7vwh came out in '93, that's why he said it's a '94 and is the second year. Even though it wasn't a '94 lol...

In English money it's worth $1000 providing you can clean it up I think. But then again we're always getting ripped off on Ibanez.

$1000 seems fair from how he described it. Maybe $800, depending how bad it really is, but it's not that bad at least
