But back to the original question. Keep the Wolfgang! And if you HAVE to get a JEM instead, avoid the 7VWH. Why? Because the guitar has forever been ruined by Chibanez, it could never be cool now, even if The Fonz was playing it. I hate the 7VWH with a passion. The Fonz is OK though.

As cool as road flare red is, it will NEVER ever surpass the intergalactic pimp guitar that is the 7vwh.

Re: peavey for jem

Keep the wolfgang and save up.

I know it's nice to get something new, but if you already love your Wolfgang then you're not going to be getting a guitar which will benefit your playing much, as technically it offers nothing 'extra' over the wolfgang.

It's great to have nice gear (which you already have) but eventually after owning/playing a lot of gear you will have drooled over for years you'll realise it always falls down to what you're actually playing on the thing. So keep the Wolfgang, practise like mad, save, eventually you may find that you want something completely different to a Jem.

I saved up like crazy for my 7vWH when I was 16 to afford it. I have it now and it's great, but I play my £300 RGA121 more just because I prefer the feel of it, even if it was a quarter of the price of the jem.

so, after 100 days of working I would be able to afford a JEM.....

didnt start playing the guitar until I as 17 anyway, and then I bought a cheap POS for Ł80 with my student grant.

Well then DUH If your dads gonna buy it for you (lucky sap) then get the Jem. 7vwh's are AMAZING guitars despite what a certain "very few" folks here think. The vwh exudes coolness

Sometimes you kill me Swifty

But who cares if there are lamo copies around. The ONLY reason there are copies is because it's a very cool and highly sought after guitar

And I even put gold knobs and a switch tip on mine so it would look even more like a chibanez I think it makes it look much classier ;O)

Re: peavey for jem

It's down to taste, I guess.

I think the guitar would be great if it didn't have the mother-of-toilet-seat pickguard and gold hardware. Over here, gold is associated with a type of common moron called the "Chav". They wear cheap looking gold chains, Burberry baseball caps and cheap looking nylon sportswear, plus they conglomerate outside shops and generally just hassle people. If a chav played a JEM, he would most certainly choose the 7VWH.

So maybe that put me off?

OK, I'll shut up now.

Have you ever or are you currently being bullied by "chavs"? "roll"
I am certainly not a chav but i own a 7vwh. Do i need therapy or is anyone allowed their OWN taste?

Please, no need to take this so seriously, I'm having fun.

Yes, you are allowed to have your own taste.

Re: peavey for jem

I think the 7VWH has a certain charm about it - I almost sold my RG8670 to get one, and I know now I would of regretted selling it. But I REALLY wanted a 7V at the time.

Don't sell the Wolfgang unless you are in every way shape and form sure that you will not miss it (even a bit) because when you have your brand-spanking-new shiny white guitar, you'll be thinking about what you HAVN'T got now.

Just get a job and be patient. Beg like hell, or something.

Re: peavey for jem

What colour RG8670 do you own, Mylo? Those are seriously sick guitars, especially the red one.

Re: peavey for jem

I agree that you should keep the Wolfgang. Otherwise you will regret it later. You can always get a 7V later. Save up your money and get it when you can. You will appreciate it that much more (and so will your Dad). (And I still say sell the SG ... just kidding!)
