I think you answered your own question man. You have something that works for you don't go changing it.
If you want to experiment with something like a JEM, look out a used RG series (eg rg550).

Re: peavey for jem

Get a job, and buy the Jem without selling the Peavey. Itll take a long time but IMO having two great guitars is worth the wait

Re: peavey for jem

This is a tough one. Because down the road, you will want (and probably get) another Wolfgang. But it won't be THE one. The VWH is unreal, and stunning, but if I were you, I would wait until you can afford the VWH on your own. Ask your Dad to split it 50/50 with you, and if you show him you are serious (about saving for the Jem AND about practicing) he will probably even do better than that. If you like the Wolfgang, I would hold onto it. (And you know I am a BIG Jem guy)

Re: peavey for jem

I had a job at 13, whats wrong with that...
work for what you want... or sacrifice something for it...
either way, no-one here can make up your mind for you and you shouldnt listen to anyone who does....
your choice is simple...
1. Peavey
2. JEM
either one is a great guitar and I couldnt afford a chibanez when I was 13 so youre bloody lucky and dont think that you aint !

Re: peavey for jem

Wow. You're 13 and you have a Wolfgang Standard, a SG Standard, and you're dad's willing to buy you a VWH?!?!?!?!?!? Make good use of them kid. When I was 13, I had a ****ty, low end Washburn Idol, lol.

Re: peavey for jem

We used to have a piece of paper on the fridge to keep track of my hours. I grew up on a small farm, Dad would leave a list of work, I would do it when I got home from school and write down the hours it took(Yes he would throw the BS flag as appropriate). He paid me by the hour, whenever I asked for the money. Keep it going until you are half way to the VWH and ask him to match you.

You may not have a farm, but I'm sure if you tell Dad you want to work he will find things for you to do.
