Photos of EVO.

I found some phots of Steves guitar on a Swedish forum, so I thought I post them here. So they are not taken by me. They are taken by a Swedish guy who had an EVO pass for the show in Malmö, Sweden.
I hope he don't mind me posting them here.

She looks amazing. Nice fretwork too.
I notice the saddle on the B string has been swapped with that of a chrome trem.

All these little insights on Vai's number one....got me drooling buckets

Nice pictures Magnus! Thanks so much for posting them.

Re: Photos of EVO.

Though the body has seen better days, the fretboard looks fantastic!
Anyway, thanks for showing some pics of EVO.

In the first pic, does the neck pick up look too high to anyone else?

Yes, it does look like any playing after 12th fret would have the string resting on the pickup. Strange.

Re: Photos of EVO.

i think thats just how the picture looks the pickup appears to be pretty much just even with the fretboard there, so no biggy as far as that is concerned

Re: Photos of EVO.

Am I wrong in assuming that you all have seen/read "all about Evo' on the vai.com website? start here http://www.vai.com/Machines/guitars1.html and click on 'all about evo'.

enjoy!

I've read in his site saying the split is unfixable... In time to come the guitar won't be useable anymore

Re: Photos of EVO.

That's what I though, but I don't think there's anything that *CAN'T* be fixed. Technically speaking injecting some tite-bond into the split and clamping the body *SHOUD* fix it(quite common amongst wood workers and luthiers). The wood will split elsewhere before the glue seperates.

Maybe injecting it with glue will cause EVO to lose it's mojo and hence cannot be repaired. If a broken neck can be fixed I don't see why a body split can't.

(I guess this may be the last tour Steve takes EVO)

i think its funny that everyone says the dings and blemishes on vai's jem add character, but i bet if that was a nobody that owned it, we'd all be saying, "oh man, what did you do to your jem?! its ruined!"

So true. Imagine if joeblow was selling his guitar (same condition as evo) on da bay, he`d be lucky he gets $500.
