They're amazingly versatile guitars in standard form, but the RH4 Classic in my pic (on the bottom right) is even more so. The VSC (variable spectrum control) system is quite simply amazing, and offers so much tonal variation. The VSC is basically an active boost system. Via a three way selector switch you can opt between low, mid & high boost...all adjustable via three small controls under the rear cavity. I could write about all the different sounds it offers, but you really need to try one in order to understand how versatile they really are.....forget Fender
Build quality is top notch, again I can't fault them....out of the four Blades I have owned, each has been perfect. No rippled finishes here, no poor fretwork...
Hardware...Falcon 2 way trem is a clever design. It works in a way which allows you to dive bomb until the strings are completely slack, but also allows you to pull up two tones while the actual tremolo unit remains flat. It basically has a standard tremolo block, connected to the claw via 3 springs, plus a smaller spring loaded block which operates in the opposite way to allow you to pull up. Do a search on google for this trem to find out more.... Machine heads are Sperzel trimloks...Pickups are Levinson's own which I can't really fault. Although, my RH4 Classic has been fitted with DiMarzios- they work incredibly well with the VSC system. I've been trying to get hold of a VSC for one of my Jems, but haven't found one yet..
Woods...Single piece sen ash body, canadian rock
maple neck,
ebony fingerboard....
I don't understand why more people don't use Levinsons...in comparison, Fender SUCK
