Picking up a new JEM7VWH, have a couple questions

Is it possible to tell by the serial # on the head what year the guitar was made?
What are the reccomendations on set up vs. how they come from the factory?
Is $1500 a good price for a new 04 model?
What sort of warranty does Ibanez carry?
Have any of you used a MIDI pick up on your Jem?

Thanks, this web site has been extemely helpful in the past month I have been a member. I have learned quite a bit about what I actually wanted (nearly bought a 555 off E***).

F04****** will be a 2004 Jem, F just designates the Japan factory it was made at, which the name escapes me right now. They come set up with 9's, which is how I like mine set up, so no changes there. The warranty is a "limited" lifetime one.
I'm also going to be buying a 7VWH at about the same cost, which that's a great price for a new Jem. Where are you buying yours at?

I thought the warranty was for "1 year after purchase date"

Brian
I am buying at a local 'non-chain' music store. Would you like me to ask if he will sell you one for the same price (+shipping I imagine)? If so PM me, or email me numan27@yahoo.com And Ill ask. He said he had access to 5 others.

Does that include the UV1000 case?

No, it did not include a case. I bought a white 'coffin' case from musicians friend for $76.
