Piezo and reswirl for Jem77AMC + my newest addition Jem77GDMC

Hey folks,

It's been a while since you all saw me here, but I.ve been very busy.

A few years ago I put some photo's on from my own made Ibanez Jem77BMC.
I thought about reswirling it. Rich said I'd better leave it alone, when I contacted him for a Tremol-No.
I did finaly reswirl it and I have no regrets at all, 'cause it turned out absolutely awsome. Slight changes to the guitar are the Pieze saddle's and a tremol-no.
Besides that I have been very busy on another guitar. Turned out to be a Jem77GDMC (gold multicolor) Here are the specs.
- Body Swamp ash swirl in black and metallic gold
- New ebony fretboard with gold mirror tree of life inlay, gold 6105 frets and gold side dots
- Mirror gold Ibanez headstock logo with satin gold V-checker and JEM decal
- Standard humnuckers with mirror gold bobbin toppers and gold pole pieces. Soon to be replaced by Dimarzio Air Norton and Tone Zone
All the rest of the hardware is also gold and of course a clear pickguard.

So two new jem are born: Jem77XAMC (abalone multicolor) and Jem77GDMC (gold multicolor)

I actualy put the gold one as an option in te 50th anniversary thread.
Seemed to me like a worthy candidate.
Can't wait 'till the Dimarzio's go in.

'cause the GDMC sounds a little thin compared to my XAMC wich has Dimarzio evolutions and a HS-2 in an alder body.
The humbuckers that are now in the GDMC one are standard Ibanez humbuckers.

Johan, I really like these pictures better. In the other thread, you can't really see the detail of the guitar, here you can see the gold better. What color pickups did you finally decide on for the gold one?

Congrats on both guitars! I would love it if I could buy that blue one!

I was thinkin' maybe in zebra style and in this case that would be black/creme the same way they are setup now, so the cream instead of the gold bobbin toppers. On the other hand..................I could spray them gold (same color that's on the body). Or I could just go with a new set of toppers. Anyway the pole pieces are gonna be gold again.


Yep, swirled them myself. Right now I have swirled about 10 guitars, but I must honestly tell you........these two are the best. Some of my other swirls are here http://www.ibanezregister.com/cpg148...php?album=2019
together with a few other guitars and my rig. The UV, the black RG, and the Jem555 there are the only ones I did't finish myself.

Glen and I talked about this a few years ago. I swirled a guitar myself using the same colors that were used for Glen's guitar.
Now I had to put in the piezo electronics so I had to do some routing and fact that the laquer I used a few years ago was a bit thin and started to come off, so I thought why not reswirl it. But your right it looks a bit like Glen's.
But Glen's guitar is probably swirled with a white base color, whereas I swirled mine on a silver metallic bese color. The metallic particals shines right trough the blue color, wich gives the blue a metallic look as well.
