well, the ALS tab book has a lot of pics, but SSV's one has a
maple fretboard
.
-Insert comments like 'If the
production model
had a maple fretboard, I'd get one'-

Definitely a matter of opinion. I would have never bought one probably if they were like that

The old one was my favourite. I even stained my maple necked mexican (
floyd rose
) strat navy blue, and put a black sctratchplate and a black HSH pickup configuration and knobs. Anything to immitate that Jem.
I never liked the production BSB until i saw one in the flesh when i was visiting London (I made a trip to denmark street especially). I was blown away, and i had to get one.
Okay, it's more green than blue in colour; but i like it.

There was 1 pix on Vai.com of his 97 show in Australia which shows him playing a BSB. Different neck though. If memory serves it looked like it had a sharkfin inlay(wizard neck?).
I've got the pix somewhere so if you can't find out on Vai.com, email me.

There's an Ibanez ad with Vai and Satch together with Steve holding a BSB. I just happened to see it on my vai-screensaver-medley when i got back to my computer.
Satch is holding a natural wood JS and they're both looking off in different directions trying to look cool.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to access the pics from the screensaver file
