Pots

The volume pot of my new jem (4 months) just stopped working during a gig. Tonight on the second music the pot started to get stuck and a couple seconds later totally stuck, don't move at all.

Is this a usual problem with pots? It never happened to me in my life.

Re: Pots

yah just got my tone pot replaced but sometimes it just gets stuck and you can fix it
but most likely you need a new pit which sucks

Re: Pots

Unfortunately the stock pots are not worth much and freeze up. Take the opportunity to replace the stock wiring with higher quality parts.

Not worth much? I just payed 2300€, that's like 3.5k$ so it should come with some high quality parts. I would be really disapointed otherwise.

edit, and it's a stock 2008 jem, 77v-bk.

Re: Pots

Yeah, than goodness it hasn't happened to me but you are definitely not the first to have pots lock up. There are some things you can do to try to fix it which I don't recall but a quick search here may help.

Yeah, there it is, knew I saw it somewhere before. One guy used a metal shim to break it free and it worked and another used some wd-40. Have a read through and you may come across something that will help, good luck Paulo.
