Price information for a JEM77FP and a JEM777DY

Hi, first of all i know that a thread like this without photos it's quite senseless..but I'll try
There's a '88 or '89 JEM77FP in local a shop, theoretically it's not for sale but the shopkeeper said that he accepts offers..
The guitar it's heavily played (lots ot fretwear) and in bad aesthetic conditions ( lots of chips, dings, scratch..especially on the sides).
It's otherwise in good playing conditon (exceps from the fretwear).
What is your opinion a good offer (for me) for this guitar??

And an harder question..
On the same shop there's also a jem777dy (maple fretboads with pyramids), ready to accept offers.
This guitar is on very good contition (little played) but with a TREMENDOUS decoration made of beads and fragments of mirror sticked on the body...
It's a great guitar raped with an obscene decoration...
What price can i say?

I wouldn't accept less than $100 to take them off his hands, if he's offering you less than that, tell him to keep them, you'd rather have something decent. You probably can't rescue the DY without a complete refinishing, and the FP is beyond "player" condition from the sound of it.

ask him what he wants first. dont just submit either. without asking youll have no idea on what will be acceptable to barter about

I personally wouldn't touch em , why buy yourself into trouble ?
These two models always crop up on **** now and again .

Good luck in finding a nice one.

I know that these models in these conditions are not a big deal..
The 777DY it's totally ruined by that obscene ornament but the opportunity to grab a 77FP at a low price it's quite intresting..

The fact that he says their not for sale, but he'll accept offers is just fishy to begin with....and that means he wants more than what their worth.(Its an old salesman trick) I would just walk away and look for something better.
Or make an obscenely low offer and watch his reaction.

think ofwhat its worth for you...thats important.i have seen those guitars for a 650$ but dont want them in a bad shape.if you can play them and have fun it ask him the price (show your credit card haha that helps)and if you think its too high.give a bid and see what happens...but dont want them too bad.that cost money...let us know...or pictures

A salesman will always know what a really good condition one is worth so a good thing to do is -- before you go back to the store start with the price of a very good condition one ($900 ish? I'm uk so not sure but you'll know) then write down every piece of work with a price that you will need to do to restore it to that good condition.
Now heres the good bit ... go back to store armed with this info and deduct the prices one by one in front of his face and finally explain why its not even worth any more than ($400 or whatever) to you.
If you do it accurately and precisely rather than "uhmming" and "ahhhing" he will probably want to sell it that day.
