pyramids or vine Dilemma

Hi every one, This is my 1989 Ibanez Jem 777DY with a 77FP neck, I bought it in 1996, the bloke I got it from bought it from new then decided he wanted the vine neck, he managed to get a PX on a 77FP neck, the guitars in mint condition and I love it but im wondering if I should try and get the original pyramid neck to make it original again or get the head painted yellow to match the body, I hadn’t played it for 10 years until about 4 months ago now ive got the bug again but when im looking at it I think Hmmm pyramids or vine,

So what do you Jem fans suggest keep it as it is or change it.

That's a cool look, but if you decide to change it I would not refinish it - I'd find someone here with a DY neck and do an even swap. I hate to see FP patterns destroyed.

I totally agree with this!!! Not only that but I'm sure you can sell that FP neck, thus making your monetary venture a little less expensive...I sure as hell would buy the neck.

Yeah, sell the neck. i would have bought it a year ago. Im sure youd get a good price on the bay.

Sell the neck if you like, I got a real good price for mine.... paid for the pyramid to be custom made on my 550 neck and had cash left over to put towards a new amp...

I know there are a lot of FPs around, but they deserve to be kept.

I have a huge dislike towards the vine inlay - always thought they looked tacky

- but i love the pyramids - one day i want a custom pyramid neck but instead of three colours, i want three different woods as the inlays on a maple neck - can't wait to get that made!
