question

Hi,
I have recently managed to get a 777dy pyramid inlays (as the name says) i was wondering if anyone here could tell me what year it is from the serial no. I was told it's an '87 but the bridge doesnt seem to be the one of the origional jems.
Sorry if this is in the wrong place let me know then delete it, i'm new here. I'm also new to jems i've always played the JS's but this jem is out of this world!
Thanks guys

The serial no. is 915708

Re: question

Thanks, they're increadable guitars arent they?
yea it doesnt have the origional "edge" on it. so are the first two numbers in the serial the year?
i had the js100 but changed the pickups to FRED and PAF pro and i had a 1200.
i found with the js series that they were great guitars but were visually stunning enough for me, and the volume control was in the wrong place for me i ended up nudging it down slowly.

Re: question

I WAS FIRST

Then everyone copied me

Yeah, first 2 numbers on the old plates are the year.

Check out the IbanezRules site (banner at the top of the page) and you can find out huge amounts

I got a JS1000BTB Soo beautiful I prefer the feel of JEMs though.

How about some pics then???

(be warned....we are pic whores here )

Re: question

lol yea i'll get some pics up soon as i take some. also, does anyone know a really good finisher in england (preferably south east) becuase there are some chips i'd like to get repaired.
what do people think of the sound of the PAF pro's compaired to evo's? i've never played anything with evo's and i just wondered if getting a new jem would be a good idea soundwise. yep, i'm hooked on jems now lol. only had this a week and already considering another.

i have pafs in my 777vbk.its exactly same guitar as your 777dy but different colour.i love the paf-pro pickups.i had evos in my jem555 the bridge and neck pickups were awsome but the single coil was dead quiet (skinny sounding)

Re: question

Well, I am sure you will get all kinds of opinions regarding the EVO vs PAF question - So here is mine. I think the PAFs are the best sounding pickups I have ever played. My floral has them, and My rootbeer has them, and they are just right, great power when I want it, cleans up nicely when I don't. Having said that, there is nothing like the scream of the EVOs when I just want to outright crank. My advice: buy 2 jems, one with PAFs and one with EVOs and then you will have the best of both worlds. OMG - a van halen reference - somebody shoot me :-)

LMAO

You are getting yourself in sooooo much trouble FN

The PAF pro's do sound sweeter and warmer than the EVO's, it's just a matter of personal preference. Nothing wrong with either....and i can highly recommend having both

Re: question

Well they had one of the longest production runs of the JEMs, so they should be more common.
