Question about UV777BK trem

I just came from the local guitar shop where they had a UV777BK for sale. Excellent price, I'm looking to put it on layaway and live a life of crime for the next 45 days. )

Anyway, I checked it out, and it looked unmodified except for the chrome skull knobs. (Oh well) But the thing that surprised me was the trem bar, which was not 'pop-in' or screw-in, but it had a collar on it, like the bar for my old S470 with the TRS. The rest of the bridge looked good, nothing like the TRS7 (or whatever) on my RG4270.

What does this tell me? Is it old, new, swapped out for something else? Also, is there anything else I should be checking out on it before I buy?

Original floyd or gotoh trem maybe? Who knows for sure, a pic would make more sense. actually though the bar attachment could have just been changed. Does it otherwise look like an edge trem??

I didn't have a lot of time, as I was headed for work. But I've noticed that TRSs have flatter bases, like they are stamped rather than molded. This one had the 'molded' base to it.

I'll have another look tomorrow. A picture is unlikely, but maybe I'll bring my camera along just in case.

For some constructional differences between the TRS and lo pro, go here (scroll down).

A trem bar with a collar on it, sounds like an OFR of some sort.

Cheers,

There are some that don't like the pop in bar and have converted the holder to OFR type to get that "lacked bar".

It sounds like Rich is right. Unfortunately, he who hesitates is lost, and so am I. That UV sat there for well over a week, but two days after I saw it it sold. Too bad, it was only $600, which means whoever had it last sold it to the shop for about $300. (The pain...the pain!)
