Removing swirl marks?

Selling a black Universe, thought it would be good to give it a polish using a quality auto polishing paste, it must be too abrasive as its done more hard than good, putting even more micro scratches into the glossy clearcote surface.

Anyone had any really good results with any product in particular? I know it'll never be that immaculate factory fresh gloss surface, but I gotta get rid of the mess I made!

Cheers

3M Finesse-it Final Finish

You probably used a coarser grade that is meant to be followed up by additional steps.

Re: Removing swirl marks?

Was given a bottle of Menzerna Super finish plus 3800 to try, whilst I await the 3M final finish, wow this stuff is amazing, experimented with it on my old Talman, a little bit of effort and all the swirl marks have gone, as have years of pick scratches and other general abuse marks (bear in mind that all these scratches were very light). Just tried it on a gloss black RG2627ZE and it now looks unplayed (other than some fretwear) - a deep 'wet' look to the surface, factory fresh.
