Replacing the P'ups in my UV - ...Opinions on colors please.

Hey all

After my gig last night, i decided that I'm going to replace the Blaze IIs in my UV777PBK with a Paf-7 neck and an Evo-7 bridge. *This is the same configuration as my Jem (other than the middle p'up) and I hope to have a little more consistency between the two guitars (not looking for contrast here - I have a Strat for contrast :biggrin.

I was thinking of special ordering different color p'ups just to add a little splash of color to the mostly black Guitar - maybe Reds... (I want the two to be the same color).

I dunno - I'm looking for opinions here. *I just want a little splash of something - no flourescent green or anything. *My taste is for "something that's noticably 'there', but understated".

What do you guys think?
~Kenny

PS...Bloody swirl, if you happen to have a UV-BK template and you can plug a couple of the diferent Dimarzio p'up colors in there for me, that'd be great, but don't hassle yourself if it's a ton of effort. *Thanks

Hi Kenny
I have just been looking at the pics of Glen's UV777BK...

how about

Red pickups, red knobs and tip?

I think that would look great.

cheers

most UV777bk's that I have seen have had paua abalone lok-a-like (or could be real) inlay material, so perhaps blue rather than red would be a more coordinated direction,

maybe use the same colour combination as on the JPM 90 purple/blue two colour pickups with chrome dials.

Should have been more specific...
Do the Bi-Color p'ups cost extra? *Because i know just ordering whatever color you like is not. *Just wasn't sure if the bi-color was extra special.

sorry kenny, my mistake.

I dunno if they cost more, I assume scince single colours dont cost more, that Bi-colour ones dont cost more either.

Give Dimarzio a shout and see what they say.

That's good info...thanks

Okay - I'll expand the field to include matching bi-color p'ups too.

The Tom Anderson single i have in the middle is black, but has a bit more grey in it than the stock Blaze Single. *Shouldn't affect the color scheme though.

~kenny

PS: *At the end of this, I'll have a complete set of blaze IIs If anyone is interested in buy them. *Place your dibbs now

As far as I know it's the same price for any color or any combination of colors. Didn't cost me any more for my green and black TZ.
Red would look awesome. I was thinking purple like in the JPM90th for my UV but red would be cool too.

YaYoGakk. When did you order the TZ??? When I order mine there were only black, cream or zebra colors available.
