RG1527 vs UV777

Considering both models as my potentially new guitar....
as you all knwo the price difference is really significant (two times) so:
what are the advantages of Unverse besides the insanely great promoted brand? I heard taht RG1527 was a really cool instrument....so I would be more than grateful for any competent suggestions.

They are pretty much the same other than the looks and added single coil in middle position of the UV. So if you don't mind the added features of the UV, a RG1527 should do you good. By the way, I'm currently on the market for one.

Re: RG1527 vs UV777

I'd say they are both great guitars, but if i was buying and money was an issue, i'd plump for the RG. The stock pups are horrid, but then i don't like the Blaze pups in the UV a great deal either. You would still make a significant saving over a UV even if you were to change the pups in the RG.

I would add though that if money wasn't an issue it'd be the UV.

Re: RG1527 vs UV777

The necks on the two have different feels. I still find the Universe to feel a lot more natural than the RG1527. The American Basswood body on the Universe does make a difference in weight and tone than the 1527 which I believe is asian basswood(which is denser and doesn't have the same snap as the American counterpart).

If price is a concern get the RG1527 as it's still a real kick@$$ guitar but the pickups really have to go on it.

Re: RG1527 vs UV777

I see...thanks guys...in fact in my case the main stuff is a QUALITY of the instrument. I'm going to jump form 6 to 7 string guitar before our record session starts....I am expecting a much deeper and more natural low sound of the riffs...currently I am on Low C# tune and in my case even having a quite thick strings the sustain sucks...
