Re: Sims Custom Shop PAW Swirl
Personally, I think Sims should have asked evolvedmb's opinion before posting the pictures for everyone to shoot at.

Really I don't know anything about SCS or his work, but i think that swirl looks better than most of the skittles barf everyone around here worships as cool. Those examples are usually the most gaudy and appaling examples of guitar style I can think of.

It's true. One man's starburst puke is another's awesome guitar paint job.

Re: Sims Custom Shop PAW Swirl
Yeah I think I like swirls better when they have a direction. You know, this is a yellow swirl, and the other is a red swirl. I don't like it when the list of colors actually is bigger than the spectrum of light. Red, orange, blue, yellow, purple, green, magenta, pink, sky, tangerine, cimarron, banna, tope, emerald, amber etc... That kind of swirl just results in hocked up sherbert for me.
It's just too much most of the time, but these seemto be more tastefully swirled.
But I am in the vast minority becaue I don't like swirls that much and I think that EVH tone was buzzy an annoying and Vai is too quirky to be my guitar hero, so just take my opinion as a tiny grain of salt.

Re: Sims Custom Shop PAW Swirl
Even though I'm not keeping this
guitar body
I thought that I would post
some bigger pictures of it for everyone.

I can only say that I've been offered an alternative situation that
I'm taking advantage of. That's as much as I will say for a while, sorry.
I hope it finds a good person because I've owned that guitar
for almost 10 years!

Re: Sims Custom Shop PAW Swirl
It is a 7 Ranz (either a UV body or a 7620, from the shape of the trem route). If there are more obvious signs of either body type, someone will slap me silly.

Re: Sims Custom Shop PAW Swirl
That's up to Patrick, because he now owns the body. I
think that he is willing to sell it to whomever, but I can't
really speak for him at this point. The body is an RG 7420
that I bought back in '99 from GC in Ohio.
