So has anyone picked up the hardtail JEM yet??

Just wondering....Ibanez Rules was forecasting a Feb delivery....and despite all the negative comments I would have guessed that someone here must have one if they've arrived......so who's gonna admit to buying it?

I remember him saying that Ibanez was running behind on shipments so he might not have em yet.

Re: So has anyone picked up the hardtail JEM yet??

The delay has to be the manufacture of that ugly vai logo sticker/inlay. They kept throwing away batches of them thinking they were bad until someone informed the sticker makers that the vai logo sticker/inlays are supposed to be that ugly. Either that or Ibanez makes so many black guitars that they actually ran out of the paint. Nah, you know they have tankers of black paint on emergency stand by. Ibanez running out of black paint, that will never happen.

Re: So has anyone picked up the hardtail JEM yet??

Total number of Black guitars made in Japan this year. 7.

JEM7FX
JEM77BK
UV777BK
PM100BK
PM120BK
MBM1
RG1570BK

If you want to stretch is and add Galaxy Black, which really isn't black, 2 more.

RG3550MZGK
RG2228GK

I'm not adding Himalayan Black, it's really brown, and Black Pearl, mostly greyish brown metalic.

You can add 2 JC's in BX of course.

While I'd like to see some new Jem color options, too,,,I must say my Jem 77V bk is absolutely stunning in the looks department. And, my Jackson SL2H is also black. I guess I really like black guitars, but I understand what people are saying here. I always thought that a nice wine red/burgundy jem with chrome hardware and , of course, the vine inlay on the fretboard , would be real nice. I also would like to see the "mirror finish" bad horsie guitar reissued with a vine inlayed neck!

Except that a Jem isn't really an axe that is used in metal. While I've seen tons of metal bands that use Ibanez RG's etc, I've never seen a metal band that uses Jems. UV's yes, Jems, no. I think people who are into Jems, like more than black. That's just a guess.

Great suggestions. Especially the Red one. While there have been many black Jems, there still has been no Red Jem. Though I'd like to see the return of maple necks & colored pyramids inlays, though vines are nice too.

I'm really curious about them; even with the Vai sticker. I have always wanted to see a fixed bridge JEM, I just wasn't anticipating a huge sticker on it. The problem is that I can't think of any good way to cover that freaking sticker up.

Wintersun guitarist Jaari does (and he's one hell of a guitarist)
The band plays Epic Melodic Death btw
