So they're making limited edition EVOs (reliced)

That's "reliced" as in past tense of the verb "to relic."

Sorry if this is a repost.

Oh wait, I think they were only making 5 and I think they're sold out.

edit - they're already on the bay. Figures. People buy stuff and then jack up the prices and sell to collectors.

Oh, that's how much it was on eBay, too. I figured that was an inflated price.

That's the retail price?

Re: So they're making limited edition EVOs (reliced)

That price is inflated hahaha

but yes, the one on ebay is for musician's friend ebay store, and the $7,777 is what i believe they are asking for on the website, and on their ebay page..

if you click the auction, you'll see the seller is musician's friend, 2 available

Re: So they're making limited edition EVOs (reliced)

List was $10,370, Retail is $7777+.

The warehouses got 38, I doubt AMS/SamA took many, figure 32 to GC/MF/M123. GC has 9 left, MF has 2 left, I figure they sold 21 already.

For every 10 of you that thinks it's rediculous there's 1 that wishes they could pay it, and out of the world there's enough that will pay it to sell out the run. In the end it doesn't matter what the opinions of the other 6 billion are

Re: So they're making limited edition EVOs (reliced)

Rich - not to contradict you, because you def know more than me when it comes to guitars But I had heard a rumor that the Fender EVH Replica for $25K hit a production halt when they realized they weren't going to sell their original estimation. Any truth to that?

This guitar is less, and I think a smaller run, but Vai has less commercial "appeal" than EVH. His guitar was iconic.

It looks like there are 100 of these available? You would think they will be able to move them. Just one heck of a steep price

I have no idea what the EVH production ended at, I thought they made the full 300, or were supposed to anyway.

Re: So they're making limited edition EVOs (reliced)

I totally agree with you Rich. There are many out there who have the money and the desire. And good on them too. I may not want one, I may not even like a relic'd style guitar but guess what: I don't have to buy one............

Let's not misunderstand; I am one of the ones who wishes they could pay it. I wish I had $7,777 to spend on a guitar.

I wouldn't spend $7,777 on a guitar, but it would be cool if that was my guitar budget

Is there any difference between that guitar and a regular Jem as far as playability or features other than cosmetic differences?

Re: So they're making limited edition EVOs (reliced)

Maybe Ibanez is doing this to flood the market with lookalike EVOs so no one can claim they have Steve's actual EVO after he retires, because there are 25 ones that look exactly the same.

Re: So they're making limited edition EVOs (reliced)

Brazilian Ibanez Distributor was allowed and managed to get only 1 EVO.
SOLD IN THE SAME DAY to a local collector in Săo Paulo, through a huge musicstore.
(Since the Distributor cannot sell directly to costumers).
Then it took 4 weeks to arrive from Hoshino, 3 more weeks on the display at ExpoMusic2012 Show (our version of NAMM) and now it's ON DISPLAY at the store, since last week.
The store asked the collector/owner to show the EVO guitar for some time...
Now the EVO is some kinda "touristic attraction" in the store! LOL
Crazy~~~~

Re: So they're making limited edition EVOs (reliced)

I wager in 10-15 years people will be hunting for this rare guitar and willing to pay much more than it's current asking price. I was actually surprised it was only retailing for $7777.
