That sort of thing isn't supposed to be posted on this forum unless you want a war! :angryfire:
Just kidding...it's your decision...I'd never part from my Jems that's for sure
I suggest we tie him to a pole, put a lot of wood at his feet and set fire to the whole thing!

Nuno, why I got a JEM. Do I really need to say why?!!??! GUESS!
The Lo pro edge is not hard to use, but if it's either lo pro edge or Parker's whammy, I would pick the one parker offers. Why?? Because it's "easiere" to deal with... First time I used it, I tok the Attiude Song... no problems with the whammy abuse!! But one this I wonder is how good is the guitar to keep tuned.
And nuno... come to norway, lets see how easy it is to get the guitar you want. I can tell you, it's hard like hell! And guitars are expensive here... I get $1600 for mine, used. For that reason alone I begun considering to sell the JEM. I can always get a used JEM for rich harris.
But I never said anything bad about the JEM, IT ROCKS LIKE HELL!!! but taking other guitars and see how much guitar you get for each $, I found out; The JEM sells on their name, people (like me and you) MUST for a guitar
Steve Vai
plays on ;D
Here in norway it costs new $3300. I personal thinks it is TO MUCH. It's overprized. A
Parker Fly Classic
cost the same. Playing both 2 hours each day now, as I said, I think you get more guitar for each $. Sorry. Remember, there nothing wrong with the JEM. But they are (here in norway only?) expensives guitars.
Am I the only one on this forum who "blessed" by the JEM?

To Germany its so expensive that you can forget it.

Here is why I might trade my VWH for a Parker (even though I have one of each) SIMPLE ECONOMICS!
The Fly Classic is more money than a VWH, so, I'd trade my VWH for a Parker, sell the parker, get another VWH, and have some money left over. *But, whatever you like, there are people out there that even like Fenders for the love of god!!!!#

1.
I know things are too expensive there in North Europe, but if you keep informed you will realize that Italy is just after Norway and Finland, taxes-wise (not to mention that we get half the paycheck then the lower one in the whole EU).
a Jem here costs around $3000, and a used Jem is around $1800, if not mint.
i just bought a used Iby from the USA for about $600: when it passed thru the Italian custom, they wanted me to pay 300 bucks!
$300 for a $600 guitar!
so, don't talk to me about taxes, please.
2.
i just asked you why the hell did you bought a hard/heavy/shredding/high-output/trem-abuse/ultra-fast neck guitar... when you like clean/soft/lo-output/single-coil tone/classic-trem guitars.
period.
3.
i was obviously kidding when i typed 'go outta here'... come on, a bit of humour never kills...

Well, I actually did this... And you know what?
I regret it!!
...of course, I have Jems and UVs and other
Ibanez guitars
I
love
, and I
never
liked my 7VWH - in a world where there's good wood and bad wood, that guitar was bad wood, imho; not a reflection on the model, but just that individual guitar... Anyway, I swapped it for a Parker Classic because I own a Parker Nitefly and I love the neck, so I thought a Classic would be even better, right?
Wrong!
I was very happy with the guitar for about a week, maybe two, but once the honeymoon was over I found myself leaving it sit while I reached for my 7DBK day after day after day... finally, I traded off the Parker and I don't miss it - there was just something about that guitar that rubbed me the wrong way...
I know I didn't much play my 7VWH, but it sure looked good up on the wall :-) *Maybe I'll try another one some day, but my flirtation with Flys is over - my Nitefly gives me the best of the Fly and the best of a WOOD guitar imho, so I'll stick with it...
of course, ymmv

nuno, offcourse I have humour, but as you all understand, this is HARD!
I think I have made up my mind. I'll go for the parker. If it sux, then I always can sell it, since there hasn'y been sold any used Parker in norway in over 5 years, I would guess never *
Rich, is there anyway to trick the customs? If there is a way, I gonna buy a guitar from you!!!
I bought the guitar since it is the finest in the world. But I never had tested it before I bought it.
If I don't like the parker, I sell it and buy the new JEM. =)

There's only 2 effective ways to skank customs.
1. Ship me a box about 26-28 pounds, save the reciept. I send you a reciept with a deate preceeding your shipment by at least a month. About 2 weeks later I ship the guitar to you as return from warranty service. Customs will make you prove it is, since you have the predated reciept and shipping record for the return, it works.
2. Ship guitar insured for (let's say) $200. You secure secondary private insurance for the shipment, you'll need the tracking # immediately. Witgh the secondary (hidden) insurance customs will only see the declared/insured value of $200 and charge you duty on $200.

In my oppinion thatīs a big mistake, but if you prefer the Parker go on. I donīt like Parkerīs trem nor the neck.
In my opinion Parker is good guitar, but 7v is GREAT. The prizes in Norway are very different than here. A fly here costs 1700 $, and a 7V 2900 $.Try spanish Ebay to find a Parker if you want. Two weeks ago there was one for 1100$
Anyway, did you say Gibsons are neck-thru? Iīm not sure , but I think my SG is glued. Both this and neck-thru gives the guitar bigger sustain but darker sound. I love bolt-on necks because the sound is brilliant.
My next objective is a EB/MM
Steve Morse
, like it?????. Try find that in Spain...near to miracle.:shoot:
Enjoy your new Parker.

Sorry Rich! I did not want to interfere in your biz.
Berntzen: I don't know what your intention was to start this thread. But i think this thread would be better placed in a common guitar forum. This is the jemsite forum- like the name says people who like jem guitars, so i think its not the right forum for you cause our interests are different, so best wishes and
Good bye!

Just for the record, Jemsite isn't solely biased towards Ibanez and JEM guitars... lots of people here own lots of different gear... JEMs are just the main focus.
And somehow i got to be a moderator without owning a single Ibanez or JEM guitar... so you can't say we're all JEM zealots.
