Spotting a fake

I have the opportunity to buy a 1990 Jem77FP that's in excellent condition. It appears to be real and 100% original but I'm no expert so I'd like to hear the thoughts of folks on this forum regarding how I can determine if it's real.

Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

Re: Spotting a fake

The real ones are actual fabric under the clear coat, the fake ones are airbrushed for starters. Here, scroll down a bit and you will find some...

Re: Spotting a fake

usually the bridge looks pretty dodgy. look at some lo-pro and edge pics to compare. you can also notice by the headstock and the decals.

Re: Spotting a fake

Thanks man. I went and picked it up today. It's in very good condition. Just a couple of dings here and there. The bridge has some oxidation as does the neck plate but nothing too severe. I'll post some pics tonight.

Thanks to all for the advise!
