I don’t know how well Billy plays guitar, but judging by his speed and dexterity on the bass, I’ll bet he tears it up.

It’s cool that Steve gave him a UV, but I am more excited about the news that Steve played on one of the cuts on Billy’s new album.

Sweet!

Judging by Billy's bass playing he's probably only 1 millimeter beneath Mr. Vai himself as a guitarist. *Just like Steve is in a class by himself, so is Billy.

Everytime I've seen either one of them, my only thought was, "This guy's NOT human." *:-)

"Billy Sheehan is a frustrated guitar player."

after doing a bunch of searching around the net i found the information that Sheehan is playing most of the guitar parts on his album as well as playing bass and that Vai appears on one song

don't know if that's totally accurate or not.....Billy certainly has the tapping thing down and shouldn't have a hard time playing with heavy strings on a guitar!

on the subject of famous bass players who can shred on guitar apparently Jeff Berlin is another one who can shred

Billy Sheehan is arguably the best electric bassist there is, as is Vai the best electric guitarist there is.

Billy Sheehan can play the guitar pretty well, but he doesnt come close to his his bass playing and he is even farther from Vai's guitar playing.

Based on his bass playing, one would think Sheehan is just as good on smaller strings, but that isnt the case at all. Of course, Sheehan can be described as Vai's counterpart on bass, but his guitar playing isn't anything to write home about.

I think it's fair to say being as good as he is on Bass he can't help but be fairly goddamn good on guitar too....

Anyone who saw him with Mr Big copying PG's lines on the beginning of Shyboy....well words fail me.

Now THERE's a song they should do now they're playing together again....

That doesn't appear to be the prototype UV777BK that Steve personally owned (which I got to fondle and drool upon!) and used on the UZ album sleeve. *I think Rich Pike now owns that one. *I don't recall that S/N.
