Steve Vai's Signature on a Jem...

Does his signature increase the value of a Jem?

Anyone got his personal signature with a marker on your guitar, then later on went to sell it and saw an increase in the price? If so approximately how much is his john han**** worth?

And where is the "best" place to have him sign one?

Sorry for all the questions, just wondering...

thanks,
Keith

No it doesn't, best place is back of the headstock, on the back of the guitar it will wear away fast

Re: Steve Vai's Signature on a Jem...

I got mine on the truss rod cover, which I thouhght is really cool and tastefull. The problem is steve signs many many many guitars so the actual rareity value isn't all that great. I got it signed cause of the personal value to me. But that doesn't mean selling it on that someone e;se will want to pay over the odds for it cause steves signed it

I personally wouldnt want his signature on it, i like the idea of the JEM not having his name anywhere on it personally..

I doubt that Steve's signature would up the price of a JEM, given the number of JEMs he signs. I have thought about having him sign my VWH. I'd like a personalized signature given that I'll NEVER sell my JEM.

If he signs the back (or front) of the guitar is there a way to seal it so it doesn't fade?

I am going to his show in Boulder CO in April. I missed the "EVO" ticket sale, so I was wondering, how hard it is to ask one of his crew to get him to sign it for me??

Re: Steve Vai's Signature on a Jem...

i would rather have some one else sign it. Too many people have their jems signed by him...they are always all over ****. I would no a signature from someone like yngwie malmsteen, even though he isn't a ibanez lover, or some one like jason becker...which is impossible. Those would increase your value much more because they are alot more rare. But you should want his signature just to make money!!!!!
