Steven and Ibanez do it right!

Ok so I have a JS1200 on the way. And don't give me any grief for starting off this way but I want to make a point.

The first signature series guitar I owned was a gift by a very special friend. It was a JS100. I loved the guitar (this was before I knew any better). Later I got into higher end guitars and the JS100 got played less and less despite the fact that I dropped over $200 into it replacing the stock Ibanez pickups for some chrome topped Dimarzio PAF Joe and Mo Joe. I just sold the JS100.

I can't tell you how excited I am to get my JS1200. So I've been cruzing the forums and found the beautiful JS90th. I didn't know those existed. I've always lusted after a chrome boy (but then again who hasn't?). I'm quite disappointed in the JS20th. But oh well.

Now...about Steve and his JEMs. JEMs are so varied in their colors and options and such, So many different colors, fret inlays, monkey bar design and placement. HFG man, are there more different models of JEMs than Steve has Albums?

Obviously it's good for business. How many people have JEM collections? I own one JEM. A BRMR. This was to alleviate my lust for a Chromeboy. But I find myself wanting instead only 2 JEMs. I owned 2 BRMRs and sold one. I want a pre-2004 JEM 7VWH and a JEM 77VBK. That's it. But that's just me.

Can I consider myself a collector? Yes indeed. I own 8 Washburn N4's in various makes. I don't own one of the most common variety of N4's, the standard Swamp Ash, But I own 4 Maple on Mahogany, a Paduak, a Korina, a solid Mahogany and a Northern Ash. And I'm still lusting after a few more. But those guitars are all special editions. More akin to Joe's one offs like the 90ths, the Donnies, the forests and snakes. Oh man do I want the urushi JS. The JEM...it seems like there's a new color change every couple years and it must drive JEM collectors mad that there's another one, when will the collection be complete?

I'm sure Ibanez loves Steve the most cause who else gives them the business that Steve does with his JEMs that are as varied as his pants?

Your thoughts?
