Steves Jem and it's plectrums

I have noticed on several pictures on Steve Vai playing the Jem, he has several plectrums sticking out of the head..I have noticed this on pic’s of several other people playing jems as well…I was just wondering whether there are little inserts you can put them in, or whether he just uses blu-tac or something like that? I cant find a pic of the side of the head, only the front and back…anyway..thanks for your time

Double sided tape...

It's single sided sticky tape or duct tape.
Steve sticks it on the back of the headstock in such a way that there is a sticky strip exposed where the curvature is.

There must be a photo in the vault here on jemsite that shows that.

Now that I saw some new photos it does look like a double sided tape.
