I don't know what brand of strings arrived on my VSBL, but they're not like any of the strings on my other
Ibanez models. These puppies endured over four months of heavy playing, and were still usable when I swapped them. I'd say that 80% of my practice time has been on that guitar, and in that same time I had to swap several sets on my other guitars.
I clean strings rigorously after (and during) each practice session, both to maintain tone and feel of my strings over a long haul - and those stock strings totally responded to that. I've tried my usual Blue Steels and D'Addarios since, but they feel and sound worse after a week than those originals sounded after four months.
I searched the forums and discovered a promising thread about a brand called "Elixors". I half suspect that someone bought my VSBL before me, put special strings on it, but then returned it.
