I like the double bubinga stripe. looks like my j-custom.
I'll bet you're in heaven with the AANJ after playing the block-syle up 'til now!

I used to have some RG7 Strings, but they werent universes, and i liked the feel of the Uni's better so i sold them. I've kinda been wanting another AANJ guitar, and this seemed like a great way to get one lol.
I think the 5 piece/double bubina thing looks great, too. I wish there were more guitars with it lol.
The only thing it needs is locking studs and i'll be perfectly content

Nice Looking Universe Shakma!! Very white bining on the body!!

Couple of questions about the neck.
Is the neck finished with varnish or does it have a Tsung oil finish?
Also how does the neck feel? beefy? thin? I thought I read somewhere that they changed the spec this year (besides the stripes) on the neck.

Phlame - I think its just a light oil finish. Finishwise, it feels like the RG1527 i had from last year. ITs a smidge thicker than the older Uv's i have, but i dont know if thats the UV777PWH in general or just this year.

Saw a used one hangin' in my local GC here in NY. It was going for $1,150. Wasn't able to see what year it is though. Sound like a fair price to you guys?

1,150 sounds like a cool price if its in good condition w/ case and everything. Most of them go on **** for 900-1200$. At least that i've seen.
But try to talk them to 1000$ ;p

That's not bubinga, that's the new 5 piece maple/wenge neck. The dark strips are wenge. The 5 piece necks for the Jem lines have walnut, instead of wenge, and are much thinner than the wenge strips on the UV necks. It's on the Ibanez site if you care to look.
