I think you have really many chances to win the comp with this model: all you have to do now is just to add a revolutionary trem system!
Anyway, I hope this will be the new floral jem, 'cause I really like it.

I'm not that excited, personally. At first I was but now that I got a good look... No. I mean it's not very colorful or eye catching. It's just kind of bland. Black, grey and a bit of red? Surely they could have found a cloth more interesting than that? The first FP was so much more interesting to me.

It does look very similar to the caps of Vai's sesions with Blige.
I think it looks nice, I wouldn't go nuts over it if it were to be the new JEM, but I wouldn't oppose.

To be honest, I like the new floral scheme: in my opinion it looks really elegant, but at the same time extravagant.
Probably the web background used to design the guitar posted above is a little bit dark... I think we just have to wait and see the real new jem.
Personally I hope that the colours will be brighter (i.e. white instead of grey); otherwise for me it's ok!

I really don't understand why Ibanez, in the recent years, has released jem guitars available only in black or white...
Take a look, for instance, to the 1991 or 1992 catalogue: it was an explosion of colours.
Anyway, as I have said before, I'm very curious to see how the new jem will be for real...

i think its because these days ibanez are being more commercial, so rather than having extravagant colors/combination's, they're toning it down for the younger market. but that's just my opinion on why ibanez don't release varied colors anymore.

Maybe someday people will realize Steve is near 50, and maybe he's not so hot on neon fuscia anymore. Since he actually does have to approve of any release, why do you keep blaming Ibanez anyway?

Well... I don't want to blame anyone, I've been playing Ibanez guitars for about ten years and I love my WHITE jem7v.
But honestly I don't understand the reason in having 3 black jem/uv and 3 white jem guitars in the same catalogue. I only would like to see some more colour... that's all.
And ok, Steve is near 50... but he is still far from being an old classical guitar player. Take, for instance, the 20th anniversary jem. Or watch his latest dvd: it's a pure extravaganza of colours, lights and notes... that's Steve Vai!!!
Maybe I'm going off topic, sorry.
Anyway, I keep on saying that I like the new floral pattern...
