Re: The 2010 Flower JEM

I don't recall there being any fabric anywhere near the neck joint on the underside of the 77FP's.

FWIW looking at the shadows, I think it's an AANJ anyway. Also if Flo was converted I doubt Steve would return to the old style, re-issues notwithstanding.

True story... but! Since other jem models that came out this year have aanj, it would be pretty surprising to have one model other way. Its still a possibility, but i just want to be true to myself. Cant wait to see how it turns out, coz for me the whole lineup needs a reboot. Black universe, white jem... time for some DY and GR

Well spotted. I also noticed that some of the guitars used recently didn't have the original Edge bridge, but actually had the 'Edge Pro' bridge.

It would be interesting to hear what Steve thought of the Edge Zero.

If you're talking about the acrylic JEM20th, I dont think Ibanez would go to all the trouble of making one or two for Vai with a different rout for the Edge or LoPro, I dont know how they make the acrylic bodies, whether they are moulded or what, but it wouldnt be as easy as routing a wooden body.

In that youtube vid in my previous post, the 7VWH with the true temprement frets, also has the 'Edge Pro' bridge. I wonder how or why Steve gained possesion of that particular Jem.

That video is 2007 so it actually predates the EZ trem.

He simply had Ibanez ship a regular production model to the true temperament guys and have them make a new neck for it. Regular production in 06 was EP and Steve has never had any problems with the EP, he has played numerous guitars with that particular bridge.

vai has played numerous guitars with the EP but i'm fairly sure he would have locking studs put on them. i remember reading some thread ages ago about satch using the EP on some JS and rich noted the locking studs on them.

We need to spam this thread and/or picture all over the interwebz, make Ibanez show their cards before we all lose our minds.

I doubt anyone from Ibanez would read this, and even if they did, spamming threads is hardly likely to make them reveal the new JEM.
