Finally got my hands on a Jem with a maple board. Just picked up a 1987 Desert Yellow. The 3 color pyramids are really cool. This is my third Jem, it joins my 7VWH and DNA #53. I've now got my choice between PAF's, Evo's, or Breed's... Ebony, Rosewood, or Maple boards... Vine, Pyramids, or DNA strand inlays. Hey wait a minute, this G.A.S is starting to get out of hand...it really IS contagious!!!

Congratulations... but don't you need one that gives you PAF Pro's with a rosewood board? or maybe one with 7 strings? Seriously, you can't have too many of these guitars, and I should know! with my fourth Jem due at the end of next week and a couple Universes besides :biggrin:

I just picked up a VDY myself! *Now I can handle people calling me "yellow!"

So where did you get it, and how good of a deal? *IF I may ask.

I picked it up on E-bay for $650. I recognized the guitar from a previous auction. It's in pretty good shape, about a 7/10. There is slight fading on the back and also on the pick-ups. I am going to customize it with a different guard and pick-up color. It plays really well, I'll change strings and intonate this week. In comparison with my other Jems, I prefer the aanj as opposed to the old style. I really wanted a maple/pyramid board, she's got a tone of her own. I'll post pics along with my DNA and 7VWH soon.
