i know, i have a BSB, and the inlays suck, so when i get some more cash it's going over to rob to have them replaced with screws (plus get scallops done, as they just look cool)

I wish ibanez had put real screws in the bsb and dbk, it would have made both more slick looking (then again, i wish the dbk didn't have a wizard neck, as i vastly prefer the jem profile)

Great BSR job, but the pickguard doesn´t fit for me. Too much red. I would like to see it plain black to contrast the paint job or a mirror pickguard for a more soft look ala FTLOG UV.

Wow, i was worried the screws went all the way through for a minute, would be very painful on the thumb on the back of the neck

She is certainly an evil looking beast, great work

Looks good, but pickguard looks like it's got a hint of magenta/pink, rather than a hot red/orange tint, which would suit better IMHO-maybe the pics don't do it justice. The body is very tasty though.

Nice one!

Re: The Bastard UV from Hell! (666k here to slay)

yeah, it's quite hard to photograph, which is weird really, but will try again tomorrow.

I just strung her up, and she plays beautifully, got a lot of girth on the bottom end which is fun, and the neck is very playable! Got the neck and nut shimmed, and the action is tasty as hell

Overall I am well chuffed with it, it also looks even cooler with actual strings on it, kind of like a real guitar

Re: The Bastard UV from Hell! (666k here to slay)

just been playing it, verdict: awesome!

the sustainer works as a neck pickup when off, and actually sounds better than a stock neck ibby pickup, not as good as a blaze, but it does well to be honest. The DS7 in swamp ash is a winner, the guitar itself has a full low end naturally so the DS7 tightens it up nicely, it's also a nice lead pickup as well, in combination with the sustainer, the notes catch that little bit of feedback when held, something my vht UL does, so i am looking forward to playing through it at loud volumes with this

Otherwise, it still feels like an old UV, but the swamp ash body really does add a singing quality to it, i am impressed. I know sims has a bit of a bad rep here, but he did an excellent job, and i am very happy with it.

Also, it looks wicked with strings, i must try to get some good pictures tomorrow!

Fantastic looking beast, though I'd not have gone with the bling guard option, it isn't really in keeping with the rest of the guitar imho.

Can I have a go?

Re: The Bastard UV from Hell! (666k here to slay)

well, pickguard is easily replacable as i can trace it, but for now i kind of like the ott it brings to the axe, not sure what other pickguard i could use really colour wise, black is too dull for my tastes (although a smoke black mirror one could be cool) but we'll see

If you're around, sure
