Hi Kingpheel!
First i was glad to hear you got her. What's about the setup? Was it o.k. or did you have to improve something?

I played this one but passed, I didn't "agree" with the guitar, it just didn't spark for me, but I'm sure you two get on great together or you wouldn't have paid the couple of grand for it Congrats on a fantastic looking axe

The DNA WILL be MINE

Setup was fine - although I had to have a play around for a bit of fun :-)
But on the whole the setup was very good considering it had only been done at the factory.

Truss rod didn't need adjusting at all
Intonation was good,
I just played around with the claw springs and the bridge height and set the action a tad higher.
(just for my own style of playing as I find if the action is low I can't quite get enough of my tone/character into vibratos and bends).

The pictures are coming I promise.........
Soon.

I think you guys will LOVE the swirl, I've looked at the ATD (darren Johansens) gallery of DNA's and out of those on there i definately think it is one of the best swirl jobs. (I'm not being biased honest :mc: )
It has a lot of darker reds yellows and greens especially around the lions claw and around the 5 way toggle.
No huge patches of one or two colours and no particular directions or shapes in the swirl. (ie huge zig zags and streaks). Its just very well textured going from completely crazy to almost cloud like.

Glen - How can you not want a dna???
Just play it in the sunset and see it GLOW the inlays are especially good in the dark as they are very luminous

You are missing out on one of the coolest guitars ever made.

Oh yeah! don't worry this WON'T be my only Jem I have plans on collecting a few of them.....
I have been offered a 777PDY for £850 which I'm considering.........
God I love these guitars...

Oh yeah I have named #49 'Creeping Jenny' after the flowers and my girlfriend who creeps far too much :cheesy:

King - I think #49 is my favourite swirl, yet. I love the mix of colours on it!

No, I didn't get a chance to play it (didn't dare ask... ), even though Sound Control is my local. I go down there every so often and do a bit of guitar worship - it's good for you!

You have a wonderful guitar there, my friend. Have FUN!

is this the sound control in Bristol?
coz if it is, and #49 was the jemdna2k hanging on the top left hand corner of the back wall with all the other ibanez's, then i've seen your guitar!
didn't dare play it though.

nope it wasn't the one in bristol it was *the sound control in birmingham - sorry you must have seen another dna.

MrthingyX - you should have asked, they were fine with me when I asked to play both times..... although I don't think that they thought I would buy it! (I went in the shop with just a t-shirt, old trousers with paint on'em and I was soaking from that huge storm on saturday morning!)

I had to part ex my les paul to get the DNA but I really don't miss it! Actually I don't even really look at the other guitars anymore.

I registered with ATD straight away so it should be up on the list I hope * * *(I haven't checked yet though)

Guitars? Hehe those are easy to part with. Body parts, not so easy but it's still worth it. You wouldn't believe the steal I could get you on a 2nd hand kidney..
